Savery/Outman redeemed with five scoreless innings

The Phillies played the Pirates again today at 1:05, winning 3-1. The only run was given up by JC Romero in the eighth during his first appearance this pre-season.

Joe Savery and Josh Outman, who allowed a combined nine runs in 2-2/3 innings on the 28th against the Pirates, allowed no runs this afternoon against the same team in five innings. They did still allow four walks to only three strikeouts, but it was a good outing for both.

Ryan Howard, who is now at .462 for the season, went 2-3 with a double and a single. SS/2B Eric Bruntlett had two RBIs from his 3-4 performance.

In the Mets' 3-2 win today against the Braves, Billy Wagner let up their only earned run in the fourth, the only inning he pitched. Beltran, Delgado, Church, Chavez and Gotay were all left off the field while David Wright went 0-2, bringing his pre-season average to .091.

The Phillies will face those Braves tomorrow in Lake Buena Vista, FL for a 1:05 start.
